18 May 2022 via Hybrid Zoom meeting – The Asian Partnership for the Development of Human Resources in Rural Areas (AsiaDHRRA) and InDHRRA/Bina Desa organized a National Consultation Workshop on the proposed ASEAN Rural Development Master Plan 2022 – 2026 held in Jakarta, Indonesia, and online Zoom meeting. The development of the ASEAN Master Plan on Rural Development is being proposed to provide a cohesive guiding framework for the ASEAN rural development and poverty alleviation agenda, which contributes to and is shaped by the ASEAN Community Vision 2025 and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Following the mandate given by the Senior Officials Meeting on Rural Development and Poverty Eradication (SOMRDPE), the ASEAN Secretariat and AsiaDHRRA have worked together to mobilize resources to develop and to analyze the key ASEAN frameworks and work plans and other regional and global frameworks, to build the desing elements of the master plan.
This nation consultation (in addition to the previous consultations in Cambodia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, and Vietnam) aims to enrich the master plan development process with contributions from national SOMRDPE partners. including representatives from the CSOs, the private sector, and development partners.
