Quezon City, Philippines – AsiaDHRRA hosted a Farmer-to-Farmer Exchange: Learning Visit on Coco-Sugar Social Enterprises for select farmer leaders from An Giang Farmers Union (AGFU) of Vietnam. It was conducted on 24 – 30 September 2017 in the Philippines.
The participants visited various coco sugar cooperatives and enterprises including Healthy Sweets Mindanao Corporation in Panabo City, Davao del Norte; Lao Integrated Farms, Inc. in Davao del Sur; Roxas Sigma Agriventures in Tupi, South Cotabato; Greenlife Coconut Products, Inc. in Tayabas City, Quezon; and Global Organic and Wellness Corporation in Laguna.
The goal of the activity is to expose the AGFU leaders, who are producing palm sugar, to facilities, technologies, and practices related to coco sugar production, distribution, marketing, and conservation.
