Current Programs:
ViêtDHRRA was established in October 1999 in Hanoi, Vietnam. Attending the 1st congress on October 12, 1999, there were 6 organizations including the Voluntary Agricultural Extension Center, the Institute of Agricultural Planning and Design, the Vietnam Farmers Association, the Vietnam Women’s Union, the Union Vietnam Cooperative and Xuan Mai Secondary and Vocational School.
The Congress approved the network’s principles, purposes, rules and plans. Network volunteering, implementing a joint program to help develop rural human resources and disbanding itself when the program ends.
The meeting elected a 4-person Coordination Committee chaired by Professor Dr. Bui Quang Toan. The 2nd congresses in 2002 and the third congresses in 2005 have added more members, including mass organizations, civil society organizations, non-governmental organizations and some government organizations. is active in rural human resource development.
ViêtDHRRA has hosted many national seminars, organized many national and regional training courses on rural human resource development, on community development topics, food security, impact of AFTA and WTO for agriculture and rural areas, poverty alleviation. ViêtDHRRA has also hosted many survey tours and attended international conferences for staff and members of member organizations and particiapted in many useful discussions with members of DHRRA countries.
In addition to the joint activities of the entire ViêtDHRRA network, there are also many activities, also in the field of rural human resource development, by member organizations, in the central and local levels.
ViêtDHRRA is a member of AsiaDHRRA.
