Asiadhrra breaks ground for new opportunities for rural development cooperation in Myanmmar
In October 2013, hosted by ECE of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Myanmar (CBCM), Asiadhrra leaders engaged in a partnership dialogue with MyanDHRRA leaders. This
MyanDHRRA (Myanmar Development for Human Resources in Rural Areas) is a local non-profit organization. It was formed in July 5, 2016. MyanDHRRA aims to promote and facilitate sustainable development for small scale farmers in rural areas in Myanmar.
MyanDRRA’s origin can be traced back to the SEARSOLIN (South East Asia Rural Social Leadership Institute) Alumni Association of Myanmar (SAAM) and the Asian Social Institute (ASI) in Cagayan de Oro City and Manila respectively in 1996 with 50 individuals.
Back in 2004, MyanDHRRA become part of AsiaDHRRA.
To date, many of its members are trained social development workers who either work in government offices or in local and INGOs providing rural development services specifically in the areas of rural education, agriculture, rural livelihoods, environmental protection and management among others.
Our Vision is to have better quality of life for rural people in Myanmar.
MyanDHRRA is strengthening local CSOs and RPOs, supporting and organizing training events in Agriculture and livestock, Organizational Development and Natural Resource Management. We are mainly working in Ayeyarwaddy Region (Kyone Ta Loke, Nga Pu Taw, Thabaung), Shan State (Pekhon, Mobye) and Thaundaunggy area.
Membership is open to NGOs, Farmer Organizations (FOs) and individuals who have taken an interest in working for rural development and who abide by the organizational membership policies including payment of dues.
