Women and Youth farmer organizations realizing their roles at the RAI National Validation events

CamboDHRRA, LaoDHRRA, and PhilDHRRA organized a 1-day National Validation event to finalize the draft strategy paper formulated from the Dialogue Event on empowering women and youth in Responsible Agricultural Investment (RAI) in Cambodia, Lao PDR, and the Philippines. It was participated by the women and youth organizations from the National Training (Learning program) on October 2022 and the Dialogue event, along with representatives from the government, private sector, academe, NGOs, cooperatives, and civil society organizations (CSOs).

Suggestions from the Dialogue events were reviewed and enhanced by the DHRRAs and participants and were prioritized and organized into proposed specific actions for implementation.

Some of the collective recommendations are:

Development of networks for women and women’s organizations
Increasing women’s and youth’s access to technical and vocational education and training
Review existing policies, programs, processes, and structures of the government, private institutions, and civil society organizations on women and youth.
Promote women and youth engaging in agricultural investment project monitoring and evaluation.
Integrate the RAI principle on gender equality in agricultural work and other relevant areas.
