AsiaDHRRA together with its country partner, Philippine Development of Human Resources in Rural Areas (PhilDHRRA), co-organized the National Consultation on Rural Development Master Plan in the Philippines, on 4 February 2022, via Zoom.The national consultation aims to enrich the continued development of the draft ASEAN Rural Development Master Plan for regional consultation with other ASEAN Community Pillars and Sectoral Bodies, targeted to provide a cohesive guiding framework for ASEAN’s rural development and poverty eradication agenda, one that contributes to and is shaped by the ASEAN Community Vision 2025 and the 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development.
Specifically, the objectives of this national consultation are to: (1) Create better understanding about ASEAN, its mandates and 
priorities; (2)nProvide a venue to share updates on the progress made in drafting the master plan and present the indicative vision, strategic thrusts, outcomes and actions; (3) Gather inputs and comments from national RDPE Stakeholders particularly on the (3.1) Thematic issues that need to be considered and reflected in framing the master plan; (3.2) Strategic and impactful national initiatives that can be prioritized; and, (3.3) Proposed timeline and milestones to ensure ownership as well as meaningful and substantive engagements among relevant RDPE National agencies, civil society organisations, and other stakeholders.

The National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC), National SOMRDPE Focal Point, USec. Paterna Ruiz, lead the consultation among some forty (40) participants from national government agencies, ASEAN Sectoral Bodies concerned with RDPE, ASEAN secretariat, DHRRA secretariat, AsiaDHRRA technical team, and representatives from civil society organisations, peoples’ organizations representatives, and private sectors.
