A project launching and planning workshop was held recently in Kyone Ta Loke participated by officers, representatives from 6 villages and members of Kyone Ta Loke Farmers Association (KTLFA). The launching and planning workshop is a start-up activity of KTLFA’s project entitled “Enhancing rice productivity and organizing for collective marketing” involving 3,500 farmers in Eimme Township, Myaungmya District in Ayeyarwaddy Division, Myanmar.
KTLFA gets support from AsiaDHRRA through Agricord’s “one for all-international coordination of support to farmers’ organizations” program (“DGIS 14ALL”), component 1 which draws funds from the Directorate-General for International Cooperation (DGIS) of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands for the Farmers Fighting Poverty (FFP) Programme.
The start-up planning workshop was aimed at 1) arriving a common understanding on the objectives, processes and outputs/deliverables expected from the project between and among Kyone Ta Loke Farmers Association, Karuna Pathein and AsiaDHRRA; 2)to discuss and agree on the implementation plan and schedule of key activities of the project; and provide guidance on the reporting requirements of the project.
Representatives from the local authorities, Caritas Pathein and AsiaDHRRA came to participate in the project launching and workshop, including the signing of the Agreement of Cooperation between and among KTLFA, Caritas Pathein and AsiaDHRRA.
