AsiaDHRRA is set to participate in the ASEAN-FAO Regional Conference on Food Security 27-28 May 2009 in Bangkok, Thailand.

“The aim of the ASEAN-FAO Regional Conference on Food Security is to provide a consultative platform for the ASEAN Member States, Dialogue Partners and international organisations to address food security issues in the ASEAN region.
To this end, the objectives of the Regional Conference are:

1. To review and update the global situation on food security;
2. To introduce and raise awareness on ASEAN Integrated Food Security (AIFS) Framework and the Strategic Plan of Action on ASEAN Food Security (SPA-FS);
3. To explore possibility for cooperation among parties concerned in the implementation of the AIFS Framework and the SPA-FS; and
4. To discuss the modality and arrangement for coordination and monitoring of the implementation of the AIFS Framework and the SPA-FS.
5. To discuss draft FAO Regional Priority Framework for Asia and the Pacific and provide ASEAN+3’s inputs towards its finalization.”
