28 September 2021 – AsiaDHRRA was invited by the FAO Regional office for Asia and the Pacific, to present during the regional online workshop “Ending Child Labour in Agriculture in Asia” on Tuesday 28 September 2021, via Zoom.
The regional workshop aimed at:
1. Raising awareness on child labour in agriculture and its subsectors, giving voice to agricultural stakeholder to address child labour in Asia.
2. To recognise the agricultural stakeholders ‘role and efforts in addressing child labour in agriculture in Asia.
3. To build momentum towards more concerted action at local, national and regional level with a view to contribute to achievements towards SDG Target 8.7.
4. To identify ways to step forward efforts to prevent child labour in all agriculture subsectors.
The workshop provided agricultural stakeholders the opportunity to indicate what actions they or their organizations took to increase action towards the elimination of child labour in agriculture and what recommendations they would provide to agricultural and other stakeholders.
