Asiadhrra assists ASEC and the MARKET Project  in ensuring a strong CSO participation in the upcoming Preparatory Workshop for the 2nd AMAF-Private Sector Dialogue on Food Security so that CSO perspectives can be fully incorporated in the action agenda.
The workshop  to be held on September 6-7, 2012 at the Plaza Athenee Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand seeks to develop an action agenda for discussion  at the 2nd AMAF­ Private Sector Dialogue on Food Security which will be held on 27 September 2012 in Vientiane, Lao PDR.
Discussions  at the workshop  will be focused on three topics: improving  agricultural productivity, access to credit, and the role of women in agribusiness.
Representatives from the private sector – businesses groups, farmers’ groups, civil society organisations — will discuss their views on these topics with Senior Officials from the Ministries  of Agriculture and Forestry (SOM-AMAF).
The Bangkok activity is organized by the ASEAN Secretariat in cooperation with the ASEAN-US MARKET Project.
