AsiaDHRRA, together with partners from PhilDHRRA, AFA, and InciteGov had a 3-day trip in Brussels in October 2006 which was kindly arranged and partly sponsored by the CSA (Collective Alternative Strategies). The main aim of the visit was to orient the group of the different development groups in Belgium (NGO, Foundation, Farmers Organizations, Belgian Technical Cooperation) and expose them to some offices in the European Commission concerned with Asia and rural development.
The visit likewise allowed the host and its partners some understanding about the issues and the work of partners in the Asian region. AsiaDHRRA and AFA look forward to its cooperation with CSA, who shares the importance of creating platforms for dialogue and cooperation among different stakeholders in aid of policy work to promote and protect the rights and livelihoods of small farmers and producers in the agriculture sector.
