As a regional member organization of the Southeast Asia Committee on Advocacy (SEACA), AsiaDHRRA participated in the Board of Directors meeting held last May 7-8 in Hanoi, Vietnam.
In preparation for the Board meeting, AsiaDHRRA convened a caucus of SEACA’s regional partners, among them Asian Women Cooperative Forum (AWCF), Asian NGO Coalition for Agrarian Reform and Rural Development (ANGOC), LOCOA, Asian Committee on Human Rights (ACHR), Migrant Forum Asia (MFA), Southeast Asia Committee on Food Security and Fair Trade (SEACON) and Forum Asia.
The SEACA Board agreed to the regional groups’ proposal that on its fifth year, SEACA focus on issues and concerns on globalization and the WTO and the UN MDG. A small group, with AsiaDHRRA included, will initiate conceptualization of how SEACA can get involved in the processes of the UN MDG.
