Hanoi, Vietnam – AsiaDHRRA convened ReCoERDo-Asia’s Regional Project Coordinators (RPC) and Project Advisory Committee (PAC) Members in the 4th Joint RPC and PAC Meeting on 24-26 June 2019 at Trade Union Hotel, Hanoi, Vietnam.
This year’s annual project assessment and planning was attended by members of PAC namely, Dr. Hiroyuki Konuma (former FAO-RAP DSG), Dr. Sita Sumrit (Assistant Director and Head of PEGD-HDD ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community Department), and, Mr. Socrates Banzuela (AFA Representative / National Coordiantor of PAKISAMA); member of the AsiaDHRRA ExeCom; and, National Project Management Team members from CamboDHRRA, DHRRA Malaysia, InDHRRA, LaoDHRRA, MyanDHRRA, PhilDHRRA, ThaiDHRRA, and VietDHRRA.
For the last year of ReCoERDO-Asia program implementation, AsiaDHRRA and DHRRAs were advised to strengthen and set-up clear mechanisms for services to RPOs; to further advance SDG localization initiatives; and, to take the lead and closely work with ASEAN SOMRDPE on pushing for ASEAN Rural Development Masterplan so to bring back priority on agriculture and rural development sector in the region.
The meeting culminated with a field visit to community project sites of North Vietnam College of Agricultural and Rural Development.(NVCARD)—a member of VietDHRRA. The group visited and discussed with the leaders of Trai Hoa Organic Vegetable Cooperative, Nui Be Pomelo Cooperative, as well as with NVCARD.
