Tagaytay City, Philippines – AsiaDHRRA conducted a training-workshop on Gender and Development (GAD),with a theme: “Generating Collective Understanding and Developing Gender Integration Strategies and Plans,” on 25-26 July 2019 at Canyon Woods Resort Club, Tagaytay City, Philippines.
Some 18 females and 13 males participated in the training representing the management and project operations team of AsiaDHRRA, Bina Desa/InDHRRA, CamboDHRRA, DHRRA Malaysia, LoaDHRRA, MyanDHRRA, PhilDHRRA, ThaiDHRRA, and VietDHRRA.
The basic gender framework, concepts, and, issues were reviewed. Ongoing GAD-related initiatives within the newtork were also discussed in order to surface gaps in the implementation and to identify GAD integration strategies.
With better understanding GAD issues and gaps in the network’s initiatives, the participants have identified initial actions to be taken by AsiaDHRRA’s ExeCom, and, by regional and national secretariats.
