AFA-AsiaDHRRA holds Joint ExeCom Meeting

A joint meeting of the AFA and AsiaDHRRA ExeCom took place on Dec. 14, 2006 in Cebu City, Philippines to discuss the results of the external evaluation done by Ms. Dinky Soliman on the progress of AFA’s preparation towards full operational autonomy. A joint task force was created during the meeting to oversee the process of reviewing the initial set of indicators agreed and chart a more comprehensive guide for the process. The task force will meet in February in Korea, hosted by KoDHRRA, in time for the next AFA ExeCom meeting in March.
This was capped by a joint Christmas team building activity in Bohol where participants enjoyed the scenic Bohol with its natural attractions of dolphins in-the-wild, chocolate hills, tarsiers (world’s smallest primate), Loboc river, and the Bohol Bee Farm.

The Asian Partnership for the Development of Human Resources in Rural Asia (AsiaDHRRA)
is a regional partnership of eleven social development networks and organisations in eleven Asian nations that envisions Asian rural communities that are just, free, prosperous, living in peace and working in solidarity towards self-reliance. Tracing its history from the founding workshop on the development of human resources in rural areas in 1974 in Swanganiwas, Thailand, the DHRRA network’s mission is to be an effective promoter and catalyst of partnership relations, facilitator of human resource development processes in the rural areas and mobilizer of expertise and opportunities for the strengthening of solidarity and kinship among Asian rural communities.
It is dedicated to the empowerment of farmers in the Asian region.
