AFA and AsiaDHRRA participated in the Regional Consultation for Farmers’ Organizations in Asia, convened by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). The consultation is part of IFAD’s global process to institutionalize a mechanism for exchange, dialogue and partnerships with small farmers and rural producers’ organizations at all levels of IFAD engagements.
AFA partners Sor Kor Por from Thailand and Vietnam Farmers’ Union as well as AsiaDHRRA partner CAMFAD from Cambodia were also represented during this consultation.
The consultation was held December 9-10, 2005 at Manila, Philippines.
Related to this, AFA and AsiaDHRRA will participate in the upcoming Farmers Forum to be held on February 13-14, 2006 in Rome, Italy. The forum is organized by the International Fund for Agricutlural Development (IFAD) in conjunction with its Governing Council meetings on 15 and 16 February 2006.
