Brussels, Belgium – AsiaDHRRA members and partners participated in a dialogue with the European Union’s (EU) Directorate General for Development Cooperation on 2-10 May 2017 to improve understanding about EU and discuss its rural and agricultural development priorities in the Asean region.
The delegation was composed of leaders from AsiaDHRRA, the DHRRAs and their partner-farmers’ organizations in Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, and Vietnam, members of AsiaDHRRA Secretariat; members of Asian Farmers Association (AFA) and Secretariat, the ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Rural Development and Poverty Eradication (SOMRDPE) Chairperson, ASEAN Sectoral Working Group on Agri-Cooperatives (ASWGAC) Chairperson, and ASEAN Secretariat representative. They were joined by CSA, co-organizer of the event.
This activity was organized as part of the North-South Learning Exchange Visit: Southeast Asian Civil Society Rural Development Leaders and Practitioners, funded through the Regional Cooperation to Empower Rural Development Organizations in Asia (ReCoERdo-Asia), with support from the European Union.
