A project board meeting and steering committee review and planning was organized by the World Rural Forum (WRF) on March 19-20, 2025, in Vitoria Gasteiz, Spain. The gathering was participated by six WRF members from different continents under the ACRE project, namely the Asian Farmers’ Association (AFA), AsiaDHRRA, The Confederation of Family Producer Organizations of the Expanded Mercosur (COPROFAM), Inades-Formation (INADES), Pacific Island Farmers Organisation Network (PIFON), and Plateforme Régionale des Organisations Paysannes d’Afrique Centrale (PROPAC)
The two-day event focused on presenting the project’s achievements and challenges in 2024 both at strategic and operational levels. Additionally, action plans for 2025 was charted and discussed targeting on activities like regional policy dialogue engagements, research actions, communications, data collection, and evidence generation. Moreover, tools development for management and provision of services to members, including capacity building and knowledge exchange events at a regional level, were also proposed among the project’s members.
ACRE Project “Strengthening the Agency of CSOs in Developing Policy Framework for Equitable Rural Development and an Enhanced Contribution of Family Farmers Towards the Achievement of the SDGs ” is an EU-funded initiative that promotes rural development and agricultural policies with objectives aligned with the United Nations Decade of Family Farming 2019-2028 (UNDFF). It aims to achieve other key agendas on sustainable food systems, climate change, biodiversity, and the 2030 Agenda.
