USAID Deputy Administrator Paloma Adams-Allen and Mission Director Ryan Washburn joined the Rural-Urban Market Link (RUML) team for the launch of Biyayang Lokal in Valenzuela City on 21 March 2024. Biyayang Lokal, a subprogram under RUML, aims to promote and link farmers’ products to the urban markets and deliver affordable, fresh, and nutritious food via a cooperative-cooperative supply-market mechanism.
The event also highlighted the signing of an agreement between GlowCorp-PBC, the National Confederation of Cooperatives (NatCCO), and Valenzuela Development Cooperative (VALDECO). In addition, RUML’s collaboration with Deliver-E on a digital innovation platform will support the ordering, fulfilling, and delivering orders from consumers.
RUML is a seven-consortium partnership led by GlowCorp, with AgriCOOPh Federation, AsiaDHRRA, FSSI, NatCCO, PhilDHRRA, and PHILSSA, & funded by the USAID.
