AsiaDHRRA and its partners organized an Internal Midterm Review and Assessment for the RISE-UP Project on January 8-9, 2025, at Star Hotel, Davao City.  The initiative has reached significant milestones since its inception in February 2024, which includes capacity-building activities (Training of Trainers), stakeholder mapping, advocacy initiatives, and profiling of over 1,600 cases of child labor.  The activities were implemented across four municipalities in South Upi in Maguindanao Del Sur, San Fernando in Bukidnon, and Asuncion and Kapalong in Davao del Norte.

The project’s midterm assessment comprehensively reviews its progress in activity and accomplishments.  The meeting also focused on participatory and reflective sessions that enabled stakeholders to evaluate the achievements, identify challenges, and align the strategies in the second phase of its implementation.

The review has gathered project partners and relevant stakeholders, which provided an opportunity to integrate learning into ongoing initiatives, strengthen commitments, reinforce collaboration, and sustain momentum to ensure that children in agricultural communities have access to a safe, sustainable, and rights-based future.

The “RISE-UP Project” is an EU-funded initiative on “Harnessing CSO Capacities for Eliminating Child Labour (ECL) Action through Multistakeholder Partnerships and Agri-entrepreneurship”.    The initiative partners with Kaanib Foundation Inc., Community Organizers Multiversity (COM), and PhilDHRRA and aims to eliminate child labor in agriculture through strong rural people organization participation.
