In 2023, at the JPP Nusantara (Nusantara Rural Women Network) working meeting, female cadres expressed great hope for more substantial support and recognition from women’s organizations at the village level. These hopes also included increased funding, fairer regulation, and policies that actually support farmers and fishers.
However, behind that hope, the women cadres of JPP Nusantara still face significant challenges, among them:
- Lack of support from women’s organizations at the village level
- Policies that are not on the side of women, especially in agrarian issues
- Minimum access and control to agrarian resources
- Limited funding for empowerment programs
To answer this challenge, JPP Nusantara affirms the importance of advocacy education for women cadres. By strengthening their capacity, rural women can be more empowered to fight for their rights!
