Phnom Penh, Cambodia – AsiaDHRRA, represented by Marlene D. Ramirez and Mags Catindig, participated in the Forum on Strengthening Partnerships for Smallholder Agriculture and Rural Development in Cambodia held on 10 August 2017. The forum was co-organized by DHRRA Working Partners in Cambodia: FliFly and FNN; and, attended by representatives of local NGOs, farmers’ organizations, government agencies, and private sector.
Ms. Catindig presented the regional frame and initial results of the scoping study on the convergence of SDG30 and ASEAN Vision 2025 vis-à-vis development initiatives of rural development organizations. Other speakers from civil society groups, farmers’ organizations, government, and, private sector also shared their initiatives, plans, and programs related to attaining SDGs. During the workshop, participants agreed to continue the forum as a platform for knowledge learning and exchanging on rural development issues. They identified priority issues to be discussed in the succeeding meetings, and, some concrete action steps to be led by DHRRA Working Partners, with support from the Ministry of Rural Development and AsiaDHRRA.
