30 August 2022 – The 11th ASEAN Public-Private-People Peoples Forum (11th PPPF) of the Senior Officials Meeting on Rural Development and Poverty Eradication (SOMRDPE) held today in Daewo Hotel, Hanoi, Vietnam, was chaired by Mr. Hue of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) of Vietnam and co-chaired by Dr. Nguyen Xuan Hong, Chairperson of AsiaDHRRA and President of VACVINA, for Civil Society.
Ms. Marlene Ramirez, Secretary General of AsiaDHRRA, presented the national consultation process involved in crafting the SOMRDPE Framework Action Plan for Rural Development and Poverty Eradication 2021-2025. SOMRDPE country focal agencies presented the key elements of the Work Plan and shared how their national activities are responding/connecting to the regional targets. Development partners, including AsiaDHRRA, gave their views and commitment to supporting the implementation of the RDPE Work Plan. The draft Master Plan for Rural Development was also presented, with positive resonance among participants.
The Forum forwarded relevant recommendations to the 19th SOMRDPE Meeting the following day to prioritize specific actions to achieve the objectives set by the ASEAN RDPE Work Plan 2021-2025.
