Manila, Philippines – AsiaDHRRA, as a member of the National Organizing Committee (NOC) of ASEAN Civil Society Conference/ASEAN Peoples Forum (ACSF/APF), participated in a mobilization with a theme, “Celebrating People’s Struggles towards Alternative Regionalism” on 7 August 2017 in Ermita, Manila.
The said event was organized to make peoples’ voices heard and to assert the urgency of ending poverty, deprivation, injustice, inequality, and discrimination in the region. As the ASEAN is aiming for “People centeredness,” expression of demands to reach ASEAN leaders was courageously delivered. Regional representatives from several ASEAN countries showcased solidarity statements on thematic issues per respective countries.
