AsiaDHRRA and the ASEAN Secretariat co-hosted the Inter-Sectoral Dialogue on ASEAN Master Plan on Rural Development on 11 August 2022. The meeting aimed better to understand the Rural Development Master Plan (RDMP) and generate support and participation toward its implementation.
It also gathered inputs and comments on thematic issues that require consideration and reflection and potential convergence across the sector and inter-sectoral cross-pillar coordination mechanisms to create synergy and cooperation.
The development of ASEAN RDMP was proposed to provide cohesive guiding frameworks for the ASEAN rural development and poverty eradication agenda, shaping and contributing to the ASEAN Community Vision 2025 and the Vision 2030 on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). Accordingly, a series of national consultations were co-organized by AsiaDHRRA through DHRRA members in Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam from December 2021 to June 2022.
The ASEAN Secretariat and AsiaDHRRA have worked together to mobilize the resources to develop the Master Plan as mandated by the Senior Officials Meeting on Rural Development and Poverty Eradication (SOMRDPE).
