A follow-up activity on collaborative advocacy planning workshop to eliminate child labor was conducted by the RISE-UP Project with Rural People’s Organization (RPOs) and Farmers Organization (FOs) on January 28-29, 2025, in Hanjin Compound, South Upi, Maguindanao del Sur.  Child labor in rural areas of the Philippines, particularly in agricultural settings, remains a significant issue.  Hence, creating a comprehensive advocacy plan to raise awareness and create sustainable and child-friendly practices is vital.

The gathering similarly evaluated the extent and nature of child labor in the region and identified areas of concern and gaps in existing programs and policies.  Integrated action plans to leverage participating stakeholders’ resources and capacities, mainly from NGOs, community leaders, and government officials, were also designed to address child labor accordingly.

RISE-UP is an EU-funded initiative in “Harnessing CSO Capacities for ECL Action through multi-Stakeholder Partnerships and Agri-Entrepreneurship Project” in partnership with Kaanib Foundation Inc., Community Organizers Multiversity, and PhilDHRRA.
