AsiaDHRRA and the Viet Nam Farmers’ Union (VNFU) signed a partnership contract to implement the Smallholder Economic Empowerment through Digital Solutions (SEEDS) project on 2 March 2024. A stakeholders’ meeting followed the event in Bac Giang province, where two districts, namely Luc Ngan and Hiep Hoa, were visited. AsiaDHRRA, accompanied by VNFU, met with the Chairpersons, People’s Committee representatives at district and commune levels, and farmers cooperatives involved in the SEEDs cooperation.
The province is known for export-quality fruits and is ready to embrace innovations with its slogan “to connect Vietnam farmers to the world.” Presently, there are digitalization projects, and farmers face challenges due to poor access to the market via online platforms and a lack of knowledge and skills in digital transformation.
The project is funded by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the Korean Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MAFRA).
