One of the major activities of the Sustainable Rice Campaign being undertaken jointly by AsiaDHRRA and AFA is the conduct of a Regional Forum on Rice: Promoting Sustainable Rice, Upholding the Interests of Small Rice Farmers. This forum is scheduled to be held August 11-19 in Tagaytay City, Philippines. During this forum, a training-workshop on issue-based advocacy management , focused on rice issues, will be conducted.
Also, AFA will finalize a campaign plan for the promotion of sustainable rice at the national and regional levels. The campaign plan will include (i) identifying the areas for starting or expanding production and marketing of sustainable rice at the national and\ regional levels and (ii) identification of specific policies and programs that we will propose or oppose at the national and international levels to specific government bodies.
