The book, “Shaping the Asian Peasant Agenda: Solidarity Building Towards Sustainable Rural Development in Asian Rural Communities” was launched last February 16, as o­ne of the activities during the AFA GA. It is jointly published by AFA and AsiaDHRRA.
The book contained the nine country reports, workshop results and lectures of keynote speakers and resource persons, presented during the three sub-regional conferences conducted by AFA from August till October 2003. The publishers hope that this book will be a rich source of information of Asian rural situation and Asian farmers’ initiative in building sustainable rural communities.
Also, AFA and AsiaDHRRA released its fifth monograph of their Farmers’ Exchange Visit (FEV) Program. Entitled “Asian Farmers’ Visit: Taiwan”, the monograph described the highlights of the Taiwan FEV o­n a day-to-day basis.
