Hundreds of leaders from Civil society groups across the world came for the “International Consultation Meeting on Civil Society Actions towards WTO MC (Ministerial Conference in Dec 2005″ ) held last February 26-27, 2005, in Hongkong.
The consultation was conducted to coordinate plans of all advocacy groups before and during the December ministerial in HK (Dec 13-18, 2005) as well as plan for common mobilizations before and during the Dec MC conference. The conference was a good avenue to share information/updates and link with groups sharing the same advocacies .
Coming from this important event, AsiaDHRRA and AFA have decided to organize a forum and participate in the common mobilizations during the December WTO ministerial. Their members are set to conduct farmers’ consultations and dialogues with government negotiators both at the national and regional levels prior and during the December ministerial.
