Nay Pyi taw, Myanmar – AsiaDHRRA, co-organized with ASEAN Secretariat the “8th ASEAN Public-Private-People (PPP) Forum on Rural Development and Poverty Eradication” with the theme “Shaping Resilient Rural Communities Towards the Attainment of SDGs”, and, contributed in other relevant events during the AMRDPE held in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar on November 4-8, 2019. The back-to-back meetings were implemented with the strong support from the Department of Rural Development of the Government of Myanmar and Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation (MOALI), and, MyanDHRRRA (our DHRRA country host).
Representatives from AsiaDHRRA network in Cambodia (Mr. Pan Sopheap and Mr. May Ly) Indonesia (Ms. Dameria Rosalin and Mr. Muhammad Nur Udin), Laos (Mr. Thongdam Phongphichith and Mr. Khampha Keomanichanh), Myanmar (Ms. Moodoh Htoo, Rev. Kya Moo Mr. Hei Moo, Mr. U Michael Michael), Philippines (Ms. Caridad Corridor and Mr. Noland Peñas), Thailand (Mr. Jaturong Boonyarattanasoontorn and Ms. Nuntawan Handee), and Vietnam (Dr. H?ng Nguy?n Xuân and Ms. Huong Mai), participated in the meetings.
Specifically, this forum aims to bring together representatives of public, private, civil society, development organisations, and people’s organisations, academe, and youth sectors/actors in rural development and poverty eradication for learning and sharing, and, to develop concrete recommendations and convergence action points that would inform the development of ASEAN’s agenda on rural development to advance RDPE FAP, ASEAN Vision, and, 2030 Agenda toward community resiliency.
AsiaDHRRA Secretary General, Ms. Marlene Ramirez, shared the organization’s experiences and strategies during the ASEAN SOMRDPE Visioning Workshop; while the AsiaDHRRA Chairperson, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hong, presented the Community Resiliency Rights Framework of AsiaDHRRA network during the plenary session on Community Resiliency in the context of ASEAN Community Vision 2025 and the SDGS in the Public-People-Private Partnership Forum; and, AsiaDHRRA Program Manager, Mags Catindig, showcased Bina Desa/IDHRRA’s gender initiative focused on Rural Women and Inclusive Entrepreneurship in the Gender Mainstreaming Workshop.
