Quezon City, Philippines – AsiaDHRRA convened back-to-back Farmer-to-Farmer Exchange Learning Visit on Livestock and Rice Production, and Honey Products social enterprises. The visits were held on 26 – 02 December 2017 in Batangas, Metro Manila, Camarines Sur, Laguna, Cebu, and, Cavite. This learning visit was participated by over 30 farmer leaders, and, DHRRA representatives from Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, and, Vietnam.
The participants visited various livestock and rice production institutions, cooperatives, and enterprises on honey products. These include the Federation of Peoples’ Sustainable Development Cooperative, Sorosoro Ibaba Development Cooperative, Pecuaria Development Cooperative, Inc., Cam Sur Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Bicol Federation of Dairy Cooperative, Global Organic and Wellness Corporation, International Rice Research Institute, Clarita’s Bee Farm, Dad’s Organic Farm, Dionem’s Pure Honey, Ilog Maria HoneyBee Farm, Milea Bee Farm, Purple Bee Shop & Café (Philippine Bee Hives and Natural Products, Inc.), Dielle’s Apiary and Meadery, and Neyzu’s Beekeeping Products & Services.
Farmer-to-Farmer Exchange aimed building capacities, solidarities, linkages, and relationships among partners-farmers of AsiaDHRRA. It is a proven method to help improve small producers’ organizational and technical capacities to increase their productivity and contribute to the over-all efforts at reducing rural poverty.
