AsiaDHRRA shares stories of family farmers' post-yolanda recovery

AsiaDHRRA is pleased to share its latest video highlighting some of the results of farmers organizations’ (FOs’) projects that are being supported through the Post-Yolanda Fund Facility for Local Initiatives (Year 1). The supported FO-managed projects have assisted them in coping during the early days after the disaster, renewed their livelihood and have prepared them to plan ahead their economic activities. These positive developments can be observed in the fields that they till, the communal gardens that they set up and the farm and business plans they formulated.

A major contributory factor to this initial success is the framework that the Fund Facility adopted. It has put the FOs in the driver seat with the objective not only of coping with disasters but in overcoming poverty. This is complemented by the crosscutting support of capacity building, enhancing resiliency and platform building.
