AsiaDHRRA, with its partner DHRRAs, farmer organizations, development partners, and donors, celebrated its 50th Anniversary, recalling its milestone, priorities on family farming, farmers forum, and new programming cycle in 2025, in Ha Noi, Vietnam, on 22 to 25 December 2024.
The first day of celebration reflected on recognizing the founding leaders (including posthumously) who sustained the network during the organization’s early beginnings and accomplishments in succeeding years. Awarding of significant contributions from the DHRRAs in the network’s challenging phases, and the loyalty of the Secretariat’s personnel was honored accordingly. The day similarly discussed the thematic agenda of family farming in the context of the UN Decade of Family Farming and the ASEAN Master Plan on Rural Development (RDMP). // Day 1 Photos
On day 2 of the event, a Farmers’ Forum co-organized with AgriCord was held. It served as a platform to examine the farmers’ organization (FO)/agriculture cooperative’s (ACs) contribution to the network and discuss their progress, economic programs, and future business plans. More importantly, the forum drafted the best practices and lessons learned to support FOs/ACs from the host countries and organizations. // Day 2 Photos
The third day was an opportune time for the participants to visit agriculture cooperatives in two communes in Hiep Hoa district, in Bac Giang province, northeast of Vietnam. The cooperatives are focused on swine and round grain rice production and significantly comply with good agricultural practices, including adapting the HACCP process and using contemporary media channels to market their products. // Day 3 Photos
AsiaDHRRA organized its 14th General Assembly on the fourth and last day of celebration, with its regular activities of business meeting reports from its DHRRA networks, contribution to the Strategic Action Plan (SAP), and Biennial report presentations. AsiaDHRRA successfully celebrated the victories with its member DHRRAs and partner FOs/ACs and worked towards empowering rural people’s organizations in the region. // Day 4 Photos
