AsiaDHRRA’s Secretary-General, Ms. Marlene Ramirez, participated in the 13th ASEAN Public-Private-People Partnership (PPPP) Forum on Rural Development and Poverty Eradication organized on 12 November 2024 at Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam.  AsiaDHRRA, with its work and contribution towards enhancing the socio-economic well-being of the rural people’s organizations (RPOs) in the region, moderated Session 5, provided valuable insights into the discussion, and presented the forum’s general recommendations.

The 13th PPP Forum, with the theme: “Youths as Agents of Change Towards a Resilient ASEAN: Strengthening the Role of Youths in Poverty Eradication and Rural Development,” centered on empowering young people and investing in youth-led initiatives and solutions to address poverty eradication and rural development challenges to realize the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the region.  The youth’s significant role is perceived to lead future economic growth and efforts to tackle global challenges in inequality and eradicate poverty through decision-making and community initiatives.  The event was held back-to-back with the 21st ASEAN Senior Official Meeting on Rural Development and Poverty Eradication (SOMRDPE) and Related Meetings and hosted by Brunei’s Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
