AsiaDHRRA, in coordination with Kaanib and COM, conducted a series of Learning Needs Assessment (LNA) and Organizational Maturity Assessment Training and Validation workshops with selected farmers’ organizations (FO) for the RISE-UP Project from 17 to 22 June 2024 in the provinces of Bukidnon, Maguindanao del Norte, and Davao del Norte. The first round was organized on 17-19 June 2024 at Alomah’s Place and Nature Farm, Dahilayan, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon, and participated by FOs from barangays of Kuya and Ramonggaob in South Upi, Maguindanao del Sur, and barangays of San Juan and Kalagangan in San Fernando.

The second batch was with the FOs from barangays of Semong and Capungagan from the municipality of Kapalong and barangays New Loon and Cambangoy from the municipality of Asuncion in Davao del Norte on 20-22 June 2024. The workshops aimed to understand and review the capacity level of FOs relating to eliminating child labor (ECL), recent initiatives, priority learning needs, organizational maturity level, and plans for growth. Likewise, the activities identified potential capacity development support in ECL and future action plans to implement the workshop recommendations and outputs.
The second batch with FOs in Davao del Norte
RISE-UP (Resilience, Inclusion, Sustainability, Empowerment, Unity, Progress) Project is AsiaDHRRA’s EU-funded initiative on “Harnessing CSO Capacities for ECL Action through Multistakeholder Partnerships and Agri-entrepreneurship” which contributes to the effective elimination of child labour in the agriculture sector through strong rural people’s organizations (young-youth, farmers, rural women). Targeted in the municipalities of Bukidnon, Davao del Norte, and Maguindanao del Norte provinces, it works toward synergizing functional multistakeholder mechanisms and viable agri-enterprises where young rural youth organizations are engaged and benefits from increased family income and local organizations. The project collaborates with the Kaanib Foundation, Inc., Community Organizers Multiversity – CO Multiversity, and PhilDHRRA.
