6-7 February 2023 – AsiaDHRRA’s Senior Program Manager, Mr. Cezar Belangel, visited the Coalition of Municipal Fishers Association of Zamboanga Sibugay (COMFAS) to review and understand the group’s business operations and provide coaching in their conduct of monitoring and evaluation.  Mr. Belangel learned about the group’s financial and functional capacities and planned business in light of new opportunities.  COMFAS is currently engaged in seaweed and oyster production, planning to improve processing and packaging and connecting with government agencies for registration and marketing support.

AsiaDHRRA, through the Farmers’ Organization for Asia (FO4A) program, will support COMFAS in expanding oyster farming and its value-adding activities, e.g., oyster sauce making, in collaboration with another Agri-Agency, Trias.

FO4A is a program in collaboration with AgriCord with funding from IFAD-EU.
