The Asian Partnership for the Development of Human Resources in Rural Areas (AsiaDHRRA) organized a dry-run learning program on empowering women and youth organizations to engage in Responsible Agricultural Investments (RAI) for six subject matter experts (SMEs) from its network namely, CamboDHRRA, LaoDHRRA, and PhilDHRRA.  The four-day workshop is a requirement for the SMEs to similarly engage rural women and youth groups, farmers’ organizations, civil society organizations (CSO), the government, and other identified stakeholders in their local context.  The learning covered topics on the role of rural women and youth in RAI, the importance of enabling environment, mediation between actors, and preparation of communication strategy for the dialogue event with policymakers and local authorities.

The event was facilitated by AsiaDHRRA’s RAI coordinators, Mr. Cesar Belangel and Ms. Arlynn Contreras, and supported by the monitoring and evaluation team. It was held on 19-22 September 2022 at the Richmonde Hotel, Pasig City, Philippines.

RAI is an initiative supported by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), which refers to creating productive assets and capital information oriented to support the realization of food security, nutrition, and sustainable development, including increased production and productivity.
