AsiaDHRRA to organize conference on Food Sovereignty and Alternatives to Globalization in Hongkong WTO

AsiaDHRRA in co-sponsorship with AFA and the APFNS (Asia-Pacific Network for Food Sovereignty) will be organizing an International Conference during the WTO Ministerial Meeting in Hongkong. It will highlight alternative models on agricultural trade cooperation on December 14-15 in Hongkong.
The activity is part of the whole week of civil society’s activity during the WTO-MC6. The forum, together with other various thematic workshops, consists the People’s Action week (PAW). During the forum, five case studies undertaken by AsiaDHRRA shall be presented as stimulus in identifying alternative models for agricultural trade cooperation. AsiaDHRRA and AFA participants will also join various mobilization/ rallies during the People’s Action Week.
Six participants from AsiaDHRRA and AFA have been accredited as NGO / PO participants to the official WTO-MC6. This approach is part of the “in and out” engagement of the network to push for meaningful participation of rural development advocates.
